Introduction to Goated Wes

Hello, My name is Wesley Williams and I am a biology pre-dentistry major. The coolest thing about my major is that I only had to take Calculus and not go any further in math. One of the best classes I took last semester was Indian Epics. I enjoyed taking Epics it was the most fun class had during a hectic schedule last semester. Being able to create and control my schedule as well as the structure of the class, in general, made it very enjoyable. One of my biggest accomplishments last semester was going finishing the semester with a 4.0 in a total of 19 hours. A few of my favorite TV shows are Snowfall, Breaking Bad, Money Heist, and Power. A couple of my favorite movies are Blue Streak, Juice, Paid in Full, and American Assassin. Some of my favorite music artists are Juice Wrld, Polo G, Money Man, and Rod Wave. I listen to a lot of different artists but those are a few that I am currently listening to a lot. Since I am editing my old introduction post another artist I am currently listening to a lot is Pooh Shiesty. Some of my hobbies are playing video games, working out, and watching TV. One thing I would like to try if I had more time is going golfing. A few of my favorite foods are pizza, wings, and tacos. One of my favorite places to get wings is at Bobo's in Oklahoma City. A new place I found to get tacos are called Teds Tacos and Cantina in Oklahoma City, they have birria tacos and I started going once a week to get them. I also have way too many least favorite foods to write down in just one post. A long term career goal of mine is to be able to open my dental practice. One of my big dream goals is to get my pilot license and to be able to travel wherever and whenever I want. A few places I would enjoy traveling to are Dubai, Japan, and Canada. Finally, I have one dog and his name is Tyson and here is a picture my mom sent me of him sneaking out of my room last week:

  1. Hi Wesley!

Just for the record I hate Calculus too. I took it in highschool and I knew that it was not my calling. I love Bobo's chicken in OKC too. I grew up in OKC and it seems like a lot of people have not been blessed enough to try those fried smoked chicken wings drenched in honey. If you like wings there is this Asian Fusion place called Wing It in Norman that is one of my favorites.

  2. Hi Wesley!
I've been in Oklahoma for my whole life, but I've never been to Bobo's Chicken. You bet that's on my must-visit list now, as I feel like I have to go try out their chicken wings now. You mentioned that one of your dream goals would be to get your pilot's license which sounds so cool and adventurous! Definite props to you for that, I'm too scared to fly in a plane, let alone fly one!

  3. Yay for Breaking Bad, Wes! And I like Better Call Saul even more. Have you watched that one? So much amazing backstory, plus I think "Saul" is one of the greatest American tricksters of all time, and I'm pretty much trickster-obsessed these days. I'm going to be a student in Myth-Folklore this semester and I'll be doing a trickster Storybook project for sure.
And your Tyson is such a cutie... maybe he can be in a story this semester. The world of Myth-Folklore has lots of room for dogs and legends about their adventures, natural and supernatural... like Japanese inugami! Check that out at Wikipedia... perhaps a Storybook topic for you!? Inugami at Wikipedia :-)

  4. Hi Wesley!
I am also going the dental route except I’m going dental hygiene rather than dentistry. It’s exciting to meet more people who interested in the profession. If you haven’t already, you should find Kyra’s blog. She is entering into dental school this fall.
After reading your introduction I’m craving wings and tacos now. I’ll definitely have to try out those restaurants.

It was nice getting to know you. Good luck on the rest of the semester!

  5. Hey Wesley!
Another Pre-dental student here too! Dude a 4.0 in 19 hours is no easy task I commend you highly on that feat for sure. If you're in any upper level bio/chem classes we might be in one of those together too (genetics and OChem for me!). I will have to argue with you over your dislike for calculus, I love the subject and even took it through calc 3! I was a Physics student at Baylor before transferring and switching to Biology here at OU. I will say keep working hard because the real challenge is yet to come: Dental school. Have a great semester dude and keep us all updated on that GPA ;)

  6. Hey Wesley!
First off: good idea avoiding Calc as much as possible, it is a most vile thing! I am expecting that the flexibility of this class will prove very fortunate in a semester such as this whilst in the midst of the Covid crap. I am a hobbyist cook but have never heard of birria tacos before, but if you drive once a week to find good ones then I am most definitely gonna have to look into that! Also, I have been having trouble finding a decent pizza place here in Norman, any recommendations?

  7. Hey Wesley!
I'm gonna be honest with you, I'm writing this portion of the comment before I have even read your post because your web address is too good, wish I would have done something more clever like KD's burner.
Okay, now that I have read your post it is nice to meet you. It's super cool that you want to open your own dental practice one day, we are sort of headed down to the same path as I hope one day to open my own optometry practice! I'll be honest, you have a great taste in music, tv and movies. Since Shiesty Season dropped last week Pooh has been all I've been listening too, he's insane.
Best of luck as you head into this semester!

  8. Hi Wesley,
I'll have to try those restaurants sometime, maybe after winter stops its deadly reprise. I love wings, though it is hard to find really good ones. Tyson looks like such a cute dog. My new pup just turned eight weeks old and is about his size. Honestly I'm more of a cat person really, since I'm usually the one raising them in my house and kittens are a lot more independent than puppies, but I love all animals (except mollusks, I have molluscophobia). It is so neat seeing the different dog species and noting their differences based on what they were bred to do. Of course, I prefer mutts due to them usually having better immune systems and thus living longer.
May the randomizer allow our paths to cross again,
    -A.

  9. Hi Wesley!
I also only had to take one math, I absolutely detest math. I am embarrassed to say but I put in minimal effort on the aptitude test so I would be placed in an easier math...
That is so impressive that you got a 4.0 in 19 hours! I have never even taken 19 hours at a time, and I know if I did I most definitely would not get a 4.0!
Tyson is so cute! I have a dog named Buddy and we recently got a puppy named Bowie. Dogs are the happiest thing in the whole world, I could not survive without mine.
I hope your dental practice dream comes true!

  10. Hey Wesley!

I also love pizza and tacos! I would say pizza is definitely my favorite food because there are so many different ways that it can be made! I look forward to now going to try Teds Tacos and Cantina in OKC! Also, congrats on the 4.0 last semester! That is definitely a challenge to pull off, so I wanted to congratulate you! I think it';s cool you want to open your own practice one day! I am premed and would love to do the same one day as well. Hope you have a great semester!

  11. Hi Wesley!
I am currently in both Indian Epics and Mythology and Folklore and I am having so much fun in that class so I am glad you also enjoyed it. Also high 5 on the 4.0 I also got one and I think that should be rewarded considering the state of the world at the moment. Since you like Tacos, there's a really great Taco Truck on Classan if you drive toward Main its on the right and it is insanely good and pretty cheap. I don't know the name but it is next to an orange building and they always are consistent with their tacos. Tell Tyson I say hello, and have a great semester!

  12. Hi Wesley!
I agree with you about disliking math! Congratulations on getting a 4.0 while taking nineteen hours! That is quite an achievement! I have been golfing, but I really did not like it much. It was kind of boring. Tyson is absolutely adorable! I have three dogs, Shadow, Echo, and Persephone (although we call her Seph). Nice to meet you!

  13. Hey Wesley!
Another bio pre-dental major! Seems like there are so many in this class! 4.0 with 19 hours? That's super impressive and being a biology major myself I know how difficult classes can get. I've tried golfing when I was younger and never quite got into it, so I think I'll stick to mini gold haha. You're dog is precious! Is he a westie? I took care of someone's westie once and they're the sweetest things. I hope this semester has treated you well so far and good luck in the future!

  14. Hi Wesley! My best friend is the same major as you and I can honestly say I don't know how she does it! Congrats on your 4.0 last semester; 19 hours is no joke! Your dog Tyson is so cute! I have a dog myself and her name is Diamond. Also, if you love tacos you should go to this place in Edmond called 3 Tequilas! They have amazing, traditional tacos and some of the best margaritas I have had! I wish you the best of luck!
