Time Strategies

Image
For this assignment, I read The Myth of Too Busy and How to Beat Procrastination . I found both of the articles extremely helpful as one highlighted the importance of making the benefits of action feel bigger to combat procrastination. While the other article focused on a change in mindset and focusing the idea of prioritizing your time instead of thinking you are too busy. I think both of these articles were very useful and I can definitely say I got some insights into some things I can apply to my hectic semester. I think based on my classes last semester and one of my biggest time challenges have to do with procrastination. I find myself needing to prioritize more time better and after reading both the articles have a better means or strategy to do so.  (Source: Needpix )

Thoughts on Technology

Image
Two of the best tools that aided me in Indian epics were the Word count and Grammarly add ons to chrome or Microsoft edge. Before I had the word count add-on of if I was doing homework on my Ipad I would copy my posts to google docs to check the word count. having the word count add on allowed me to have a more convenient way of knowing if I met the word count requirements. Grammarly is a lot like having your own personal grammar checker. It is working as I'm writing this response right now and checking for different grammatical errors. Grammarly allowed me to make sure my paragraphs were flowing and lessened my grammatical issues, though you still need to proofread as it does not catch everything.  (Source: Needpix )

Thoughts on Assignments

Reflecting back on Indian epics and the assignments we had I really enjoyed and was most intrigued by the portfolio. Originally, when we discussed assignments at the beginning of the Fall semester I said I was most intrigued by the storybooks but had not known of the other option. The portfolio allowed me to take some of my favorite stories I wrote and elaborate more and cultivate my many stories into one large portfolio. I don't know that I'd change anything that I did from the previous semester, I'd like to make another portfolio but with the knowledge, I have from the last class and apply it to the mythological stories we will be reading.  (Source: Pinterest )

Growth Mindset

Growth Mindset     For the repeated assignment I decided to read the chapter you wrote on growth and ungrading. I really like the idea of a change in the grading practices we have been using since I have started school. The approach on all feedback and no grades is more or less where I stand with ungrading. I think feedback especially a lot it is more beneficial to the student. Individual feedback helped me a ton last semester with my writing skills, and I was able to witness first hand the benefits of the ungrading teaching style. The what students say section was my favorite part of this reading because the evaluations are coming from students who have likely had to suffer behind the same grading system we have used all our lives. I feel like I have better control over my work and studies when I am required to declare whether or not I did the assignment. Being able to go through a semester with one class where I understand my pass or no pass situation was extremely beneficial to my

My Storybook Favorites

( The Coyote )       I really enjoyed this storybook. I think I liked this one a lot because it is a sort of familiar topic or the same kind of storytelling I saw in Indian Epics. The kind where you have an animal serve as the main protagonist. The title was a little vague as to what I might be reading other than it may have to do with a coyote. I think the introduction does a great job of segueing you into the rest of the stories, and also gets you ready for the idea that animals are the rulers of the land and will be providing you with the stories you read. Lastly, the design overall is really nice each story had a background image that related to the theme of the story. I may want to try incorporating that into my own storybooks.  ( The Lady in the Stars )     This topic is something I am a little less familiar with but the writing style I am. I think the title is great and the images throughout the entire storybook are very enticing and make you want to read the entire story. I thi

Introduction to Goated Wes

Hello, My name is Wesley Williams and I am a biology pre-dentistry major. The coolest thing about my major is that I only had to take Calculus and not go any further in math. One of the best classes I took last semester was Indian Epics. I enjoyed taking Epics it was the most fun class had during a hectic schedule last semester. Being able to create and control my schedule as well as the structure of the class, in general, made it very enjoyable. One of my biggest accomplishments last semester was going finishing the semester with a 4.0 in a total of 19 hours. A few of my favorite TV shows are Snowfall, Breaking Bad, Money Heist, and Power. A couple of my favorite movies are Blue Streak, Juice, Paid in Full, and American Assassin. Some of my favorite music artists are Juice Wrld, Polo G, Money Man, and Rod Wave. I listen to a lot of different artists but those are a few that I am currently listening to a lot. Since I am editing my old introduction post another artist I am currently l

Favorite Place

Los Angeles, California . The Grove in Los Angeles, California is one of my favorite places to visit when I am there. The Grove is a shopping center and is one of my favorite places to shop and get food in California. Here is a photo that was taken by a photographer of the train that goes throughout the shopping center. This photo also features what the nightlife is like at The Grove.
