Part A: Nasruddin, His Son, and the Donkey

  • This is a short story where Nasruddin was going into town with his son. In the beginning, Nasruddin rode while his son rode the horse. On their trip, someone saw them and was disgusted and asked why must your father walk. In order to please the wishes of the man the son got off and Nasruddin got on the horse. Further down along the road there was another unpleasant encounter where someone scoffed at Nasruddin calling him a cruel father for making his son walk. In order to please him, they both rode the donkey. Further along the road again unpleased with what they were seeing a bystander says "poor donkey, carrying two riders!". Next, they both get off and walk and the final person they saw laughed and made fun of Nasruddin and his son saying that at least one them should ride the donkey. Nasruddin took this as a lesson for his son that there is no pleasing everyone!

  Hello, My name is Wesley Williams and I am a biology pre-dentistry major. The coolest thing about my major is that I only had to take Calculus and not go any further in math. One of the best classes I took last semester was Indian Epics. I enjoyed taking Epics it was the most fun class had during a hectic schedule last semester. Being able to create and control my schedule as well as the structure of the class, in general, made it very enjoyable. Week 13 Story: The End of Art

The End of Art          Art had just won his fierce battle against the mighty Mordred, however, he would not leave this battle unscathed. Mordred had managed to injure Art with a slash to the gut just before getting slain. Art had been bleeding profusely and was being tended to by his sire Tomas. Art had told his sire that his final wish would be to return his sword from which it had came in the sea. Tomas agreed and promised to uphold Art’s dying wish. When Tomas received the sword he examined it and saw the many jewels embedded around the sheath. Tomas asked Art, “Are you sure you want to rid of this sword, it would be better off in someone else’s possession?”. Art replied, “Yes, I have thought long and hard about this and want my sword returned to sea as I part ways with this earth.” Tomas left to the other side of the forest where the sea was and decided to hide the sword in a bush instead of getting rid of it. He returned to Art and told him he had got rid of the sword. Art asked
