Part A: The Land of the Cyclopses
- Odysseus and his men arrived at the land of cyclopses
- They are known to be aggressive and rely on the immortal gods for labor
- They live in caves and have no regard for their neighbors
- They lack transportation or a means to get from place to place they have no ships
- However this does not make them poor, they have rich well-watered meadows
- Their soil is considered so rich they would actually yield great harvests
- Ahead of the harbor, it was incredibly dark Odysseus assumed some gods guide them through the darkness
- No one could see the land they had no clue where they were until they hit land
- They slept a night
- "Dawn appeared" and they began to explore the island
- Nymphs had disturbed a herd of goats sending them towards O's men
- Thanks to the gods they procured some kills 9 for the crew and 10 for O
- They drank until they hardly had any left
- Across the land, they could hear the Cyclopses voices and the sound of their goats
- Sunset and they decide to rest on the shore
- Rosy fingered Dawn appeared again and O gathered his men and told some to stay as they were going to find out who was up ahead
- They assembled in the boat and rowed to the nearby shore where they found a cave
- There were large herds of sheep and goats and there they saw a giant
